Here are some of my favorites from spending a month in Chicago this summer. Not a bad town. I like it. I could never live their. Too many people, no nature and very little in the way of freedoms. So, those are the negatives, now here are the positives. The sites!
I picked up a classic bike to tool around town on. Great old hand made Raleigh with a Brooks seat.
The Wrigley building's are amazing.
A funky piece of at and science at the Field Museum.
The Field Museum was good, but wait until I show you the Science and Industry Museum. Nothing else in Chicago compares to that place from what I've seen.
Around town.
Trump.
Harbor on the bottom. Parking on the first floors and then condos on top.
Sears now the Willis tower.
Trippy architecture.
New and old. Joined together forever!
The Perch on top of the gold dome was actually added after the building was finished in anticipation for Zeplins being the travel option of the future. It's a docking station!
Yes, it's actual Gold Leaf. Wow.
This building seems simple until you notice the detail.
You get good at walking along and pausing mid sentence to let the insanely noisy train go by. My hearing still isn't the same!
Off to the Science and Industry Museum. This place is insane!
Tomorrow I'm actually going to the Unser racing museum here in Albuquerque. Funny that a car of this ABQ family is in Chicago!
SO SHUT UP!
Looks just like my Grandpa's gear.
So, there she is. The Nazi Submarine we were able to capture during WWII secretly. Because it was in secret the Nazi's didn't change their code and it helped us win the war.
Tiny people, big sub!
Hole from gun fire. We shot the heck out of the sub trying to get them to surrender. We didn't want to shoot a torpedo and loose it.
Yes, that is a real Nazi full size plane and a 727 jet! INSIDE.
The have an entire coal mine in the museum. Wow.
Spitfire!
Racing plane!
Part of the coal mine.
Early battery.
A terrifying early Fire Fighter mask. Complete with a whistle to communicate.
Not a bad view from the roof of home.
Had to hit up a Cubs game and watch them beat up on the Arizona Diamondbacks. Argh!
Such a small stadium! It felt like a spring training game!
Bar top viewing.
Well, that's it for now. 1 more trip to make so we'll see what NEW stuff I can find!
